Arrowhead Golf & Tennis Club opened in 1973, originally designed by Bill Watts. Former Miami Dolphin, Earl Morrall, purchased the course in 1983. In December 2008, the course was purchased by the Florida Department of Transportation for a proposed project to expand and improve the drainage of Interstate-595. In order to improve I-595 drainage, it required increasing the number of lakes and digging into the golf course, fairways, greens and rough.

After the drainage improvement project was completed and the golf course was essentially brand new as a result of the new lake system that was constructed due to the expansion of I-595. The soil from the excavation of the lakes has been deposited on the golf course to create all new contours from tee to green.

Additionally, several hundred native trees have been planted to enhance its beauty and to provide definition of each hole's landing area and green site.

The redesign turned out great, but as play has increased we've experienced many challenges not addressed in the remodeling of the course. To meet and sustain our desired standards for course conditions, Greenway's expert agronomist recommended further improvements to include continuous cart paths to reduce traffic wear on turf, and regrassing the course to seashore paspalum, as it is more wear tolerant and better for the soils found at Davie. You will find Davie is in good condition as a result of an ongoing commitment by the Town of Davie and the Club's management.
